Safety Day 2023 – GEO Group – North-West site

This year, we took the upcoming annual training as an opportunity to spend an entire day together focusing on occupational health and safety.

It was particularly important to us that we wanted to make occupational health and safety “tangible” and therefore focus on exercises and practical training.

The safety day focused on the following topics:

Training and demonstrations of PPE “Personal protective equipment against falls from a height”
incl. rescue from a height

Firefighting – using the fire extinguisher on the extinguisher trainer

Occupational health and safety in the office (ergonomics at the workplace, relaxation exercises, …)

Deployment of a life raft and explanation of how to use the life raft

Evacuation drill

Handling boat trailers and trailers in general

Demonstration of a drone operation and the safety aspects to be observed

Securing a surveying vehicle in road traffic

Pyrotechnics instruction – Emergency flare demonstration

The certificates were handed out at the end. In addition, 2 employees were honored for special achievements in the area of occupational health and safety.

The subsequent exchange of experiences took place in a cozy atmosphere with bratwurst and refreshments.
