With Jona and Joni on the path to becoming future first responders

As a surveying office, we know this: Accuracy, responsibility and a trained eye for the environment are crucial, both out in the field and in everyday life. It is precisely these skills that children need in order to recognize dangers early on and act correctly in an emergency.

“Helping is important” is the motto of the Johanniter, who have been successfully teaching children in nurseries, kindergartens, schools and youth groups about first aid for years. They are supported by the hand puppets Jona and Joni.

In order to reinforce what has been learned in the long term, Johanniter and K&L-Verlag have developed an illustrative coloring book, game and workbook, a poster and an accompanying app. The teaching package is aimed at children aged five to eleven. We think: This is a really good and important thing!

That is why we support this project.

The book teaches children in an understandable way how they can help in emergencies and what dangers they should be aware of in everyday life – whether at home, in their free time or in traffic.

On 44 pages, Jona and Joni report on their experiences in the world of helping others. Using child-friendly case studies, they give tips and advice on first aid and prevention. At the same time, teachers, educators and parents can discuss the illustrations with the children and practise what they have learned. The app shows educational videos and also serves as a digital learning success check. It shows the children whether they have solved the tasks correctly and encourages them to complete the book.

Thanks to the support of many regional companies, the books, posters and the app can be distributed free of charge to kindergartens in Neustadt an der Weinstraße. This is a commitment that we as a company support out of conviction.

After all, those who learn to look carefully and act correctly at an early age are well prepared – both in everyday life and later in their careers.
