About the project:
The Rödental elementary school in the Coburg district was given new outdoor facilities as part of its complete refurbishment by GEO. From May 2020 to February 2022, the sports field, the playground and all green areas were redesigned and laid out in addition to all necessary access and escape routes.
The playground is particularly eye-catching: it is extensively laid out with concrete paving with many joints, which allows large quantities of rainwater to seep away. Embedded in it are six round circles of different colors and sizes measuring several meters, whose surface is reminiscent of sports surfaces. This is no coincidence, as the playground is supposed to be a place of activity, distraction and stimulation. The feel of the surfaces invites movement and the variety of colors allows for creative play ideas. Circular benches complete the furnishings of the courtyard. They serve as islands of peace and quiet as well as meeting places that can also be incorporated into the lesson plan. A well-rounded affair in every respect.
