Successful ongoing support for the new AVG jetty in Stade-Bützfleth
We were involved in the largest waterside construction project in Germany’s ports.
The new AVG jetty in Stade-Bützfleth was completed at the end of last year. We have managed this construction project since the start of construction in November 2022, both at sea and on land.
Our tasks included daily sounding work to check and map the construction area on the lake side. The results of the soundings were used to indicate to the dredger where material still needed to be removed.
The dredger ‘Peter the Great’ dredged away around 1.4 million cubic meters of clay over a period of eight months. This was transported to the clay depot by barge, unloaded there and distributed on the site using dumpers. Some of the clay was reused for dyke construction.
In addition, around 1.5 million cubic meters of sand were sucked up by the hopper dredger ‘Meuse River’ within 7.5 weeks and washed ashore via floating and steel pipes. The distance from the dredging area to the flushing pipeline was approx. 2.5 km.
In addition to the sounding work, our task was to regularly fly a drone over the clay depot and the sand spoil ground to calculate volumes, document the construction site and provide an overview.
